After finishing my memoir for Mrs. Ross, I was left questioning if what I wrote would have any inpact on other people. Also completeing the memoir was rather difficult. It took me a while to finally decide on a memory that I would write about. The problem I faced was that I could remember a certain memory, however I had difficulty remembering the dialouge of that day or how people looked like.
This blog post was designed for students to discuss their thoughts on their memoir as well as interact with other classmates and discuss theirs.

I had a similar problem. I don't know if people will be grossed out by mine or if they will just not get it because i know for a fact they haven't experienced what my memoir is about. I like what i wrote about because its the most pogniant memory at the mnoment that i could descibe in detal. I'm sure you weren't alone in this Jordan.

I had similar difficulties during the creation of my memoir. The biggest problem I ran into was finding an event in my life that was worth deconstructing and putting a cultural flair upon..In the end, I chose to go with a story that didn't involve me directly--but rather it was a story about my grandmother's upbringing. I knew it be easier to add in the cultural aspect of the memoir being that she was born and raised in Puerto Rico. The story is about her transformation from a child to a young adult, her relationship with her family, and how she was forced to go off to New York.
