Are you guys ready for the AP exam? I know I'm not fully prepared for everything that might be slammed in my face that day. But, I've been practicing the terms a lot lately. It's what I've had the most trouble with and now I've been improving when it comes to identifying the terms. For instance, while I'm reading my book, Life of Pi, I'll constantly pick out the similes, metaphors, and the few instances of allusions I've seen. It's becoming something that I do whenever I read any form of literature. It's definitely helping, but I can't seem to stop. Sometimes it will ruin my immersion, but it's for the best...
What are you guys working on for the exam? Is AP leaving it's mark on you?

Of course EVERY individual in AP should be studying. Especially since the test is ONLY a week away! I have been studying on my own such as engraining all the A.P. Literature terms into my head! I've also gone to the study group. A.P. is definitely leaving its mark on me. Having read so many books and plays and knowing fom which era/period they come from does make a difference.
ReplyDeleteYeah. It seems more threatening now that it isn't so distant. I've been trying to memorize & master the terms but it slips my mind sometimes. Now I just need to be able to write in a good time frame.
ReplyDeleteremeber the Ap. history exam? We were all so scared and thought it was going to be the end of the world but it wasn't. I don't think it defined me as a student and I don't think it discouraged me. I don't think you should give much thought to it. Just belive that Mrs. Ross has prepared you well enough and you'll be fine. Ofcourse im not telling you to slack either but just know it's not the end of the world. Though it would be nice to get a 5:)
ReplyDeleteThe experience of the History test really helped put things in perspective, all you can do is prepare yourself and when the time comes it's all about the minds set; you shouldn't stress about what you don't know, you have to accept that you've done everything you can and use everything you DO know the best you can.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jorge, you feel like you have to analyis every piece of literature you read. The problem with me also is the terms especially the obscure terms that are sometimes difficult to see. Even when I do the notecards some terms I'm still unable to identify. Do you guys have any other methods?
