Has everyone gone through the steps for their pathway to college?
Well, I can definitely speak about ASU.
First, make sure to stay updated with your MyASU, because you never know what scholarships and financial aid you can receive. Also, check your regular email and ASU email to stay updated, because that is the main medium of communication.
Follow the process & quickly! BEcause tomorrow is actually the last day to accept all financial aid packages.
Confirm your major, and pick your dorm rooms before there is no space!
Be sure to sign up for orientations, which start in June! There is a $75 fee if you want to bring someone along with you.
DO NOT be afraid to ask for help. Dr. Rivers is a stupendous help for this sort of thing. Also, don't shy away from chatting with ASU personnel, or calling them. THEY ARE THERE FOR US!

Do you know if this applies ONLY for ASU?
ReplyDeleteI actually don't know, but I only wrote ASU because that is the process I am most familiar with. What college do you plan on attending?
DeleteYou know the thing that I have most difficulties with is finding scholarships. I know there are tons of them out there, but the question is WHERE do I look? I am going to NAU and have no idea how to set up classes or even pick the dorm hall that I'd stay in. I have a question though (hopefully someone knows)what steps do I take to talk to a councilor from NAU? And what did you do, if you have, to speak to someone from ASU?
ReplyDeleteScholarships ARE all around! What you should do is go Dr. Rivers. She has an entire binder of them and can help you choose which are best for you Jordan. Also, do you have an email and/or personal site for NAU? If so, your advisors may be listed like ASU's. If not, then there are numbers on NAU's website to get in touch with Undergrad Admissions. From there, ask for your major adivors.
DeleteOh, okay. We actually do have a site, "Louie" to be exact. I'll have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Louie is so cool! And no problem. (:
ReplyDeleteOkay! New question. I have a NAU email, but how do I check it?
ReplyDeleteFor example, for yahoo, we go to Yahoo.com
And should I be enrolling in classes on my own or would my adviser be helping me with that?
The email may be connected with "Louie" If not, see what the format is for NAU email's from a friend or professor that attends there. For example, mine is Chanel.McFollins@asu.edu If you went to ASU, it would be your name, too. So, check that out.
DeleteYou probably will enroll att orientation, but asking your adivsor will not hurt.
I have to make that decision tonight. Makes me feel... sad. I'm extremely indecisive because NAU has sent all their financial aid information while ASU hasn't received my verified forms, yet. I've been talking with Rivers, and she has been great support. I just need to make sure that I pick a campus that suits what I need, and want out of a college. I'm glad you're set on ASU and know what you want.
ReplyDeletewell, I know that NAU has that $125 or somewhere around that price that you must have paid by May 1st. Tomorrow is May 1st.
DeleteYou might want to get into that soon! :)
Yeah, I know :)
ReplyDeleteThat's why I mentioned making the decision tonight.
But, thank you.
Oh, I see! Well good luck in making that decision :)
DeleteNot exactly sure yet. Might move to California. But thank you anyway!
ReplyDeleteI cant believe we're on our way to being freshmen again! After 3 years of maturing, now we'll be considered immature again. Anyways, i had a question for you channel. Are you going to live in the dorms or are you going to live at home? And if you are, how does it feel like? I couldn't get the chance to experience that for obvious reasons but im glad for everyone that will be going off and living in the dorms. I bet its nerve recking and exciting all at once. Im also going to Asu so i guess i'll see you there (maybe).
