i have been having some dificulties starting my essay. i know what i want my body paragraphs to be, but my opening and closing are proving difficult to get going. any suggestions?
I usually start with a statement that can be interrupted differently so it fits in my essay. So if I want to create a twist I'm able to. They also usually catch the attention of the reader.
ok so my favorite openings are quotes. Not just because they are easy, but because they actually make the paper better, it gives for an easier closing since you can just tie back to your quotes theme. And it also allows you to fill the space between quote and theses with some sort of interpretation or deconstruction.
I agree with Stefany, my favorite hooks are quotes. You could probably talk about the quote or if you are talking about a topic that is evident in all the works such as sexism and maybe talk about "sexism" today.
I agree with Stefany. Quotes help to lay the ground work so that you can build around it. While being pertinent as a guide back to your main idea, it also helps to fill space.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest I have been having trouble with my openings as well. I'm not sure if research papers begin the same way that a regular essay would
ReplyDeleteThey do!
