The Walk, NOT Talk- Party

In the spirit of Siddhartha's way of life, of not talking, of ACTING instead, of experiencing life for one's self and allowing others to freely experience theirs, of finding middle ground in all things in life, of being open minded, We the students of the Advanced Placement South Ridge High School English class do establish this organization.

WELCOME TO THE WALK, NOT TALK PARTY!

ARE YOU TIRED OF POLITICIANS WHO JUST TALK, BUT DO NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, ZERO?
ARE YOU TURNED OFF BY TODAY'S POLITICAL IDEALS WHICH ARE FOCUSED ON ATTACKING THE "ENEMY" PARTY?
DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD MAKE A BETTER POLITICIAN? YEAH, SO DO WE!

This organization is one which vows to NEVER TALK, and only ACT. As Siddhartha said, words are meaningless- experience is more important. We also vow to see both sides of every situation, of every opinion and find the middle ground of both perspectives. We understand that while there exist 6Billion people on Earth, truly there only lives one. One person who takes the form of billions, with different faces, different voices, different cities, and different experiences. We are ONE PEOPLE ONE WORLD! This organization is here to make politics work for All people, to understand all people, and to better all people.

Guys, wouldn't this be awesome? A government that does not talk and only ACTS!

  1. I respectfully disagree. In an advanced english class,by now surely we all understand the power that words can have. Buddha also said,"Words have the power to both destroy and heal. When words are both true and kind, they can change our world." In what other way can you so effectively convey the ideas that you- that we -are so full of? By what other means could Siddhartha reveal his enlightenment? I'm sorry that we can't telapathically communicate yet :)

  2. Yes, Sidd did say that, but that was before he reached the perfect state of Om, of perfection. The books evolves with him, it goes through his early follies and arrogance and eventually his Enlightenment.

In the last scene where Govidan pleads him to teach him something, "something that can make me understand." Does Sidd say anything? NO, He only acts, Gavinda kisses him on the forhead and instantly Govinda sees the world as whole.

Is it not interesting that throughout the enite novel Siddhartha talked about his thoughts and talked with others. Yet the last scene, the scene with as readers will forever be with us, Sidd does not say anything?

He only acts, Gavinda only acts and then everything came together for him.

Also, lets not forget Gavenda, the ferryman, he rarely talked, he only listened to Sidd, only acted and from him Sidd was able to learn more than from any words.

The word "Hi" is not understood in all corners of the world, words are meaningless and in some cases only cause confusion.... However a hug is understandable al around the world,no? The Kiss that Govinda gave Siddhartha in that last scene is understood by all people

  3. I can see where both Jose and Jerusalem are coming from, but one quote sticks out in my head and i cant remember who said it "actions speak louder then words" Therefore I must agree with Jose. Words are tools to express our thoughts or actions. As Siddhartha said when talking to Govinda (paraphrasing) 'Words cant express what we want. Once we try to express it in words it becomes a little different. Thus words are also an illusion to the truth.' Something close that that. Therefore it brings me to one conclusion its not the words that have the power as Jerusalem said but the meaning behind the words. Sometimes whats not said is more important than what is said. Or how it is said more than the actual words used. Words can be misleading.

  4. So you want to bring this ideology into politics. But I don't really understand what you are trying to get at.

Do you want politicians to forget the principle of necessity of compromise? do you want politicians to act on pure instinct as did our fellow Siddhartha? I mean, do you want to rid government of politics? or do you just want politicians to keep their promises?

so "actions speak louder than words" so you want government official to take an action without telling no one and then telling the people of nation after they have done the deed?

I don't know mate I just don't get what you are trying to say.

    :]

  5. thank you lizeth:). so i suppose that, like in our democratic political system, compromise is essential... the enlightened ones would also agree with the saying, "everything in moderation"...
