Macbeth Vs. Hamlet
Although we are still in the early acts of Macbeth, I think we know enough context to make a comparison to Macbeth's characterization opposed to Hamlet's. Are there any distinct similarities or differences? I think both Hamlet and Macbeth seem very vulnerable emotionally--they where their hearts on their sleeves. As far as a difference goes, Hamlet was more brazen in his actions. While Macbeth has been more timid, weak in mind, and allows himself to be haunted by his guilt over the murders of Duncan and Banquo.

Ugh, typos. Wear. not where.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion both Hamlet and Macbeth have a few similarities that Shakespeare contributed towards their persona that helps differentiate them. Both are driven by something, but the way the come across towards those actions are in different manners. It is, like you said, "Hamlet was more brazen..." while "Macbeth has been more timid". Hamlet was lead by revenge that was instigated from his father's ghost, while for Macbeth, his wife, Lady Macbeth was the mastermind behind the plot for killing the King.
ReplyDeleteThey both are very emtional; however, i think that Hamlet was more out for revenge; while, Macbeth is trying to control fate. This difference shows that they are emotional for differnet reasons.
