New Characters, New Problems?? Linda and John

Having read the recent chapter and learning about Linda and John, do you guys think that they will have an effect on how the story is going to be directed from now on? Any thoughts?

  1. I'm not sure really. I feel like their introduction will incite more conflict as it's obvious John is attracted to Lenina. Perhaps they will develop into something more? That surely won't make Bernard happy. But in doing so, she'll be more prone to accepting the "radical" ideas and lifestyles of the savages... but then again she was utterly repulsed by Linda's appearance... I honestly have no clue. Lenina's character is constantly shifting, but i feel that she will play a major role in how the story turns out.

  2. Well now that we read the section I believe that the Director will have to do something about his "problem" and Bernard will most likely stay in London.

  3. I think it's safe to say that Linda and John are going to cause their fair share of problems, if the incident with the Director is any indication.

  4. I agree too that they will cause their fair share of problems and that they will bring some type of change to the new world.

  5. I believe that they will create a subplot of their own in which symbolism and theme will be reinforced throughout and create problems of their own.
