Buddhism
I find the whole religion of Buddhism astounding. Even though, by themselves, all religions are perfect in thought (like government), but practice it is much more difficult. Anyways, Buddhism gives us the equal opportunity to reach our best--to reach our own point of holiness. Even though we can praise others who've reaches this Enlightenment, believers must strive to reach that equal level of understanding. I really respect the religion and its aspects of equality among all even the critters ans and crawlies. I just wanted to post my appreciation. Can anyone give me other religions that can be compared or contrasted to Buddhism?

This is truly amazing. I never thought of Buddhism in this perspective. It shows a person their strength, power, and own will by practicing this religion. I cannot think of another religion but I will definitely comment again if I think of another.
ReplyDeleteThere are no religions that come to mind (except Buddhism) that truly promote equality. Where one sex isn't seen as greater than the other, or one race, ethnicity, etc etc. This post also makes me wonder, why? Why don't religions promoting equality?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to believe Jehovah Witness seek equality. However, there beliefs are different when it comes to Buddhism, we believe in one god being Jehovah, but we believe that all races are equal, all sexes are equal. The only thing is they do not believe that worshiping objects or idolizing people other then Jehovah are okay. But there are many connections and then there isn't.
ReplyDeletebefore reading Siddhartha I didn't know much about the religion but I can see why you appreciate it. to be honest, I cant think of any other religions right now.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I'm very intrested in Buddhism. I like how the religion helps bring out the best in people and how it lets them connect with themselves. To me it seems very peaceful and that is something that stood out to me.
ReplyDeleteI view Buddhism as being the most respected and peaceful religion I know. All the main focus of this religion is to find peace and enlightenment in oneself. It learns self discipline, self respect, peace, equality, and love in everything human. I understand your appreciation for the religion and I can see why.
ReplyDeleteI'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or otherwise known as the "Mormon" church. Like Buddhism, we seek enlightenment, we seek to reach our very best. More specifically, we strive to be like Jesus Christ, and I think that can be compared to how Buddhists seek to be like their Buddha. They wish to have the same characteristics and understanding as Buddha just like we want to have the same characteristics and understanding of Jesus Christ. I think it is safe to say that not only does my church believe this, but also Christianity in its whole.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your thoughts on Buddhism and giving all of us a new outlook on the religion. Since you admire the religion so much. Would you ever consider practicing Buddhism?
