Sonnet 130
Out of all the sonnets sonnet 130 stood out the most to me because like we discussed in class I love how honest he is. He isn't comparing her to false things that no one can live up to, he's being honest and noticing her flaws but is also saying that with her flaws he still manages to fall in love with her and I love this because this can apply to today and show girls that we don't have to live to this expectations to get someone to like you, if someone honestly likes you he would think of your flaws as perfections and love you either way.

I thought this sonnet was so adorable! It was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Briana !
DeleteI agree with both of you!
DeleteI never thought of it this way but I see your point. It's interesting how you thought of this , good job!
ReplyDeleteI don't think he was calling them flaws, but you're right he wasn't falsely comparing her to things that are "out of this world" or "abnormal" like the sun!
ReplyDeleteTrue, he may not be comparing her to items like that, yet it's still nice to say those sort of things. However, I picture a beautiful relationship between the two that is based on honesty and love.
ReplyDeleteThat was my favorite poem too! When i first looked at the totle it seemed familiar and then once i started reading it, i remembered in had raed it with Mrs Powell in poetry class and i loved from back then. I agree with you that i like how hinest he was in declaring his love to her.
ReplyDeletehe describes not perfect but he still loves her. I see he point of view but what i want to know is what would the mistres think of the way that he describes her. He is describing her fillthy, fat, and boring.
