The Scarlet Letter

What were your thoughts on The Scarlet Letter? Did you enjoy the novel or not? Did it change how you viewed your surroundings? Also, would you recommend the book to someone else? Why or why not?

Personally, I enjoyed The Scarlet Letter quite a lot. It helped give me a new perspective on how to view previously existing ideas in today's society. It just helps to bring to mind the idea of gender roles and the double standards that society has imposed upon its members. I would also try to recommend this book to someone else, but only if they are interested in its genre or are generally looking for something interesting to read. It also could help to create some interesting discussion topics and pursuit of what is really "right" or "wrong."

  1. I personally did not enjoy reading this book because it was really hard for me to follow. I enjoyed the story but not by how it is told. I would also recommend this book to someone who loves to analyze books that are written like The Scarlet Letter.

  2. I thought the book was really interesting. I loved how even though the book was made long ago, we can relate its themes with our current society.

  3. I enjoyed the Scarlet Letter as it involved themes that are still heavily incorporated in our daily lives. It truly shedded new light on certain situations that I did not pay much mind to. I would recommend the novel only to someone with dedication to analyze and get the true meaning of the book. No point in reading a book if you do not finish it with new ideas and just a basic summary. Good question!

  4. I like this book, but not the ending. I was expecting more about the book. The last chapter "The Conclusion" make me feel like the story just end. It give me the same feeling as the book Ready Player One that we read in book club last year.
