Structure of Journal
As most of us have already chosen an independent book, I was just wondering how you guys planned to structure your journals such as Summary, Themes, and Side Notes or perhaps something else? Want to hear other ideas as it might influence other people to write about more topics to get a better understanding.

I prefer chapter summaries because not only am I getting the sense of what I read but I can also refer back to it without reading an entire chapter all over again.
ReplyDeleteI overall perfer using the cornell note taking system because not only does it help me keep organize, but it also helps me make questions, comments and connections on the side. Last, I can make a summary of the chapter as well as include new vocabulary on the right.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your suggestions guys! I will for sure incorporate then into my journal.
ReplyDeleteI plan to organize my journal in this following format: An index; to write all the chapters and page numbers for future reference, a summary page, a vocabulary page, and perspective page. Also, I'll make sure to have a page for questions if I encounter any! Thank you all for your ideas!
ReplyDeleteI would recommend something similar to what Sonia stated, but written in a style that is similar to Cornell notes with relevant.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sonia, sounds like a very organized way to doing a Journal!
ReplyDeleteI think summaries of the chapters and vocabs are just some basic things that must be included, maybe more about connect to yourself.
